- Control the Size of Column Layout – Many users wanted to be able to change the width of the Sidebars and Body area of the template – now you can!
- Switch Between Square and Rounded Corners – All the boxes around your Sidebars and Posts will change from using rounded corners to square – A small improvement to allow you more cosmetic control.

Travel Blogger – Version 1.3.5 – Release Notes: 08/11/2011
- Google Maps widget improvements:
- Fixed issue with Google Map widget breaking after a certain number of results. Please read more below for instructions on how to update your current locations.
- Ability to switch blogroll from displaying only summary (excerpt) or full formatted text (does truncate nor remove html tags)
- After many requests we added this ability to make it easy for users to easly switch their blogrolls from displaying full formatted text or excerpts of their posts. The new setting is located in Appearance > Theme Layout & Skins
Several users reported that their global map widget would stop functioning after a number of results were shown. After further investigation, we discovered that there was an issue with Google’s geocoder API that imposes a limit of queries. To address this, the widget no longer queries the location live on the map, but when the location is saved in the post.
FOR EXISTING USERS – You must update the existing address to be compatible with the new data structure. We’ve made this easy as a click of a button. Simply log on to your wordpress account, go to APPEARANCE > THEME LAYOUT & SKINS. At the very bottom of the page there is a link “click here” that updates the existing addresses. You must run this or manually update your existing posts in order for the map to work.

Can you please make it possible to use a header higher than 130px?
Thanks for a nice theme guys!
Hi Patrik – Yes, but this change has to be done in the theme’s code. You’ll need to open this file, theme_root/lib/functions/launch.php and on line 55 change this “define( ‘HEADER_IMAGE_HEIGHT’, apply_filters( ‘expediawp_header_image_height’, 130 ) );” The number “130″ represents the height, so change that to the desired height and once you upload the new image it should crop to the new height.
Hi, the change is actually in the launch.php. You will also have to go into the header file and change the padding or height to accommodate your new header size. On another note, can you please tell me how to fix this fatal error in the header option: Fatal error: Call to undefined method EXP_Custom_Image_Header::show_default_header_selector() in mysite/public_html/Travel/wp-content/themes/travelblogger/lib/classes/custom-header.php on line 149
I have sent in a support ticket, but have not heard back. Thanks!!
Hi Julie,
Thank you for catching that! You are right, the header height change is in the launch.php file. I have fixed my notes. As for the fatal error, we just put a new version of the theme out, 1.3.4 which fixes that issue.
Great theme but I’m having problems with the RSS feed social media button. I put in the link – http://feeds.feedburner.com/worldoffinance/eGVt and it somehow adds the word test behind it like this http://feeds.feedburner.com/worldoffinance/eGVttest and it won’t work
How do I fix this? Thanks again for the theme. Great design work
Hi,
This has been fixed with the latest version, please update and let us know if this still happens.
All the best
Hi there,
When I first installed your theme the Google map widget was working fine, but when I tried to install the latest version using this page I have only seen grey squares. The Map doesn’t seem to load. Do you know what has happened and how to fix this? Love your work!
With kind regards, Menno
Hi Menno,
Thank you very much for your support!
There is currently a bug with the widget that breaks after 11 results, so you’ll need to set the widget to display at the most 11 results for now. You can do this in the widget settings in the backend.
We are working to fix the limit issue.
Thanks again for your support
Embedded YouTube video seems to work fine on a Post, however it isn’t displaying on the Home page. Am I missing a setting somewhere?
Thanks,
Paul:)
Hi Paul,
Thanks for your support!
To display embedded videos in the home page, you’ll need to edit some of the theme’s core files.
Open the file named “loop-home.php” and on line 49, you should see this , change it to and you should get the effect you are looking for.
You will also need to edit “loop.php” if you want this change to happen on the entire site, so on line 115, change to
Remember, that when altering the theme’s core files, you will lose any modifications when updating to newer versions. So make sure to take notes of custom changes to reapply them
Hope this helps!
Hi, I tried to change the header and footer images. The footer is all right, but when I click on “header”, it shows this message:
PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_uploaded_header_images() in E:\home\editoraleon\Web\site\wp-content\themes\travel-blogger\lib\classes\custom-header.php on line 160
Please, let me know that is wrong. I like this theme, and I don’t want to change it…
Regards,
Raissa
Hi Raissa,
That issue has been fixed with the latest version, please download and install it and this problem will go away.
My fb “like” button seems to have disappeared despite still being present in the code. Is there something that could be blocking it?
looks like it’s back! i hope everything is running smoothly now?
I want twitter feeds automatically on my page..which is the best twitter widget for feeds
There are plenty of plugins you can find for that. Go to “Plugins > Add New” and use the search bar there to find the best one for you.
Hi,
Your travel theme is awesome ! I would like to know if there is any way to delete post comment box preview in homepage ? So the homepage will only preview the post without the comment box beside every recent post displayed.
Thanks
Our theme currently does not have a control to get rid of comment box on the preview, but we are considering adding that option.
I changed your theme but i like how the lay out is so i used it. But if i download the update, will i lose everything i changed?like logo, background etc? I rather not update then.
Inge,
If you edited the CSS code at all then you may loose some of the changes, but if you just used the theme settings to create your site’s look, then we have automatically built in settings to save the changes that you have made to your site, so you should not loose the changes you made when you update. Hope this helps, if you have any other questions please feel free to contact us.

Just installed the cruising theme, and I’m starting to play around with it. Any plans to update this theme with some of the newest features of the main theme – like rounded corners, etc?
How do I change the entire width of the theme to be full page including the nav bar? I have changed every piece of code I can find and it always stays the same.
Under the new update of our theme that was recently released there are now options to change column sizes. This should allow you to control this.

hi
great theme, thanks!
I’ve just downloaded the latest verion (1.4) but when i go to Appearances > Custom Colours and Fonts i can only see the option at the top to change font type but then the rest of the page is empty? also, the option for Appearances > Background appears twice in the menu and when i click on either of them the page becomes distorted.
have you seen this before? I’m running a windows server with IIS 7
thanks in advance your help.
rick
Rick,
I am having a hard time seeing your site, it says that there is a “error establishing a database connection” I was trying to see what was happening on your site to assess the problem better. Which theme of ours did you download, was it Seaward Bound, NYC, or Travel Blogger? I also was wondering which version of WordPress that you were currently running? Thanks!

Hi,
I really like your theme, it includes everything a starting travel blogger may dream of. There is only one issue coming up: language. I would like to use it with a Hungarian travel blog. Is it possible to change the expressions to Hungarian? I tried to use POEdit but it reported that it is not able to collect expressions. Is it because the theme is not translateable or should there be a way to manage it?
Thanks
Peter
Peter,
There is not a translation management in this theme at this time, but there are plugins that you can install with this theme, and you can use these to translate your blog as you see fit. Go here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ to find some translator plugins that can suit your needs. Thanks you for the feedback.

Could you please answer my question please ? I am not able to use your header because of this …
One good point concerning headers would be to have round corners also on the menu bar, and to be able to disable the facebook or tweeter links (possible with normal header behavior)
Thanks in advance for your support
Bob,
We are coming out with a new version of our theme next week, which will have a lot more menu options and that addressed some of the bugs with this last version of our theme, be sure to download it when it goes live and try it out, it may fix the issues that you are having with the header. Please contact us if you need anything else!
