The most flexible travel blog themes ever…

Our themes offer travelers a highly customizable, very easy to use travel blog that offers 2 gorgeous default skins (a general travel look and a camping look), or the choice to completely customize the look and feel all the way down to menu and font colors, font type, custom header, custom background and custom footer graphics, and even a choice of 2 or 3 column layouts with either left or right column orientation options.

These powerful travelogue themes also boast built in social media widgets with social icons and control settings, custom widgets for featured posts, latest posts and an awesome Google Maps integration for plotting your trips!

Finally, with our themes you can easily feature posts on the home page, as well as a unique post on each Category page. All in all, FreeTravelWebsiteTemplates.com (FTWT) themes allow travelers (or really anyone) to create their own unique vision for their site.

We chose WordPress specifically for a Travel Blog site because this platform allows a travel blogger to:

  • Post and control all their own content without the need for a web developer to assist, thus saving money
  • Add thousands of unique and powerful plug-ins to their site, making it incredibly feature rich for free (though we recommend you donate to the authors of any plugins you find very useful – keeps them in business!)
  • Build a community on an open source platform that is very well supported by the programming and web development community (e.g. it is easy to find web developers who know WordPress, CSS and PHP to customize your site if you want to do something special)

I have not been successful in changing the fonts on my website. I click on a different font, then click save, and it reverts to the original font. What gives?

We are having some issues with the fonts in our theme right now. We will be coming out with fixes in the next week or so, so please check back for updates. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Hello Blogger Support,

I have been using the theme for a while now and I am satisfied with it overall. I am curious though if there is an option for a footer widget? I would like to include one on my posts. Also, I am trying to figure out the loop feature with no success. How can I get the loop to feature posts on a homepage or blog roll?

    Thanks

      Andy,

I wasn’t sure if you were trying to install a plugin that would add an area under widgets for you to place widgets, or if you were just wanting to modify the existing footer a bit more. There is a plugin that I found that you can install onto your site that installs a footer widget that allows you to have more customizable looks and trademarks. This would display on each of your site’s pages though, and I am not sure if this is what you were looking for. Here is the link: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/footer-putter/ I hope that this helps with this issue, if not let me know what you need and I will get back to you.

In order to get your posts to feature on the homepage or blogroll, inside the post, there are options that you can choose the “feature post on homepage” and this will allow you to feature your posts on the main blogroll… you also need to make sure that your posts are featured in a category, and that category should be in your top menu as well… Most posts should generate automatically in the blogroll unless you specify the post not to. Can you send me a link of the page in which you are having problems with this? Thanks!
