what’s the best way to update the theme with the 1.7 version? In the theme page on my dashboard it doesn’t notify that there is an update available, do I have to substitute all the files manually?
We were really looking forward to this update, Thanks!
      Kind regards,

      • admin says:

        Hey Elena,

You can just download the theme from the site, and then manually upload it via your dashboard. When you update the theme, the changes you made to your site should be saved, so updating should not affect your customizations.

First would like to say what great theme Travel Blogger is. I have created a travel booking environment. I started with US and am now tacking the rest of the world. Have been working on the Menu but have encountered a major problem that it is not allowing me to add new tabs/sub tabs – they appear but when I save they have disappeared.. If I delete one then add the new one all is okay so it seems that their is a constraint on the number of tabs which is jeopardising my plans. I so hope you have a fix as it has been hours of work and having to start afresh with another theme would be nightmare

    • admin says:

Try updating to the latest version of our theme that was just released. This may fix the bug you are having with the menu items. Please contact us via our support page for further assistance if this problem persists after updating, so we can further assist you.

  4. Ugh. I was trying to change a couple of things and obviously screwed something up!
First of all, the footer wasn’t showing up on every page.
second I was attempting to get rid of the powered by at the VERY bottom of the footer and thought I was careful in removing code and putting it back in place, but apparently I messed up something.
Is there any way you can help me? I can copy the entire Footer code and maybe you can see the error??
So sorry and thank you for any help!!

    • admin says:

Since the code was messed up, I would suggest uninstalling the theme, and then reinstalling it again to undo any changes that you did to the CSS. When you do this, you should update to the latest version of our theme, which was just released. Thanks!

my comment on website are closed, im using 3 columns.
when i adding new post and the post its showing on the middle columns
i have like 1/3 that columns on right side white blank designated for Comments.
how to get rid of that blank space(comment sections)if i don’t use that future.
    Best Regards

    • admin says:

I don’t think that there is a way to remove this blank space, you may beed to actually modify the CMS of the theme in order to do this. Can you please send me a link to the page where this issue is popping up so I can see what you are talking about? Thanks!

      • Jerry DeMoll says:

        here its the website
and when you look for the second column where you have older post
i have that empty space for comments

        • admin says:

          Hey Jerry,

Under Appearance > Theme Settings and Layout > Blog Roll Content setting, did you select the option to hide the comments on the home page blog roll? This option should remove that column.

Also, have you updated to the latest version of the theme??

  6. Manda Fowler says:

I love the layout of the travel blogger template with 3 columns – I was just wondering if there is a way to increase the width of the template? I know I can adjust the width of the columns but I would like to make the whole content area cover more of the screen. Thanks!

    • admin says:

You would need to make customizations to the theme coding itself to do something like this. We only have the option right now available in the back end of the site to adjust column sizes. You can make it so the center column is wider though, which would give a lot more space for your content, and I know that the sidebars appearing is also optional too. This may help.

      • Arthur says:

Hi, just like Manda I would like to have a wider content. Could you tell where exactly to find the width, so I can change it from my cpanel.
I love the theme and just playing with it to see if I can use it for the purpose we created the webpage. Thanks, Arthur

        • admin says:

You can change the width of the columns in the theme, but to change the width of the theme itself, you would have to customize the cms files of the theme. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Just trying out your theme – seems very nice. :)
However, the menu is repeated in the footer / bottom of the page (also on this site) – can this be avoided?

    • admin says:

      Hi Marc,

I am not seeing the top menu repeated in the footer on your site, can you send me the link to the page where this issue is happening? Thanks.

I am a newbie to WordPress and in less than a day I have already setup my travelogue for an upcoming trip using your FTWT. I added a Contact and About page per your instructions. Everything is working. But that bottom of these pages is a Leave Reply form that I don’t want since there is already a form on the contact page. I can I get rid of the form on those pages.

    • admin says:

In your site’s dashboard click on Appearance > Theme Layout and Skins, and under the Blog Roll content settings, click on the option to hide comments. This should help.

Hello, for some reason the left sidebar is not displaying at all in Chrome or IE. It works fine in Firefox.

    • admin says:

      Hi Virginia,

If this is still an issue, can you please let us know. I checked it on Chrome, and it seems to be working ok. Thank you.

I have one little problem with your theme. On the front page of my blog, in my list of posts, there is a great deal of white space, as the text lists itself beneath the featured image. To the right of the image is blank space, lots wasteful.

Am I missing something of incredible simplicity?

    • admin says:

I wanted to ask, are you using the most updates version of WordPress? Trying to figure out if this is a possible bug with the theme. Thank you.

  11. Anna Marie says:

I’m having trouble with the sizing of my featured images. I’ve not had this issue until recently. I select a featured image and when it appears on the home page of my site the picture hasn’t been sized to fit. Instead, it’s a very tight shot of a small segment of the photograph. Is there a fix for this?

    • admin says:

When you set the featured image for your post, try selecting the thumbnail size in the image editor in order to capture the entire image. Hope this helps, if you need further assistance, please contact us directly via our support page contact information. Team

      • Anna Marie says:

With the latest update I no longer have the option to select thumb nail. The only way to reduce the image size is to put in dimensions manually and I don’t know the dimensions necessary for the featured image. Additionally, the same is true for all pictures within a post. If I want to edit the size I am no longer given the choices of placement, border or size. I must manually put in dimensions. As a result I am only able to put full size pictures that are located in the center of the page. (unless I know exact dimensions)
What do you recommend? It is making my home page look bad because the featured images are a mess.
        Anna Marie

        • admin says:

          Anna Marie,

If you are able to reduce the size manually, I would recommend using a 150 by 150 image size for most of your pictures. This should help your featured images look better. Sorry for the trouble, feel free to comment again if you have any other issues.

    Hi all
I’m having troubles with comment box.
Folks try to comment, but they can’t insert spaces between words.
Can you please help me? I’ve just instaled Free Travel theme on WP and I’m loving it.

    Thanks in advance

    • admin says:

Have you installed our theme specifically or are you using a different theme? I can’t fix any coding issues at this time unfortunately, since we are not able to support the theme like we would want to at this time. I apologize for the inconvenience.

  13. I would like to upload an album (multiple pictures) to my travel blog. How do I do that? I use to use Shutterfly but had problems so switched to a Blog. With Shutterfly I could upload an album of pictures to view. Can I do that here? How? Thank you.

    • admin says:

You can upload photos to posts, but we don’t offer an album like Shutterfly. You can try going to to their plugins section and search for a photo album plugin that may work with your site. You would install the plugin under Plugins in the side menu of your site’s dashboard. Hope this helps. Just to let you know, try the plugin first before setting it up completely so that you can make sure that it is compatible with our theme, as some plugins are not compatible with the theme.
