Social Media Widget

You have complete control over the social media widget settings for your page under the Social Settings tab in the Travel Blog Theme Settings admin section.  These settings allow you to control Facebook “Like” functionality, Twitter “Tweet” this site functionality, and set custom “Follow Me” settings for  Twitter, Facebook and an RSS feed.

  1. In the WP-Admin area, go to APPEARANCE > TRAVEL BLOGGER THEME SETTINGS and click on the SOCIAL SETTINGS tab.
  2. Facebook LIKE Settings
    1. Under the Facebook Like Settings section, click on the desired option for displaying or tracking Facebook Like data on your site.
      1. Option 1 makes it so that the count shown in the Facebook Like count is a count of how many times people have “Liked” this website.
      2. Option 2 makes it so that the count shown represents the number of times people have liked the Facebook page you have entered (not this website).
    2. If you have selected Option 2, type your Facebook URL in the blank field
    3. Click SAVE CHANGES
  3. Follow Me Settings
    1. Under the Follow Settings section, type in the blank field your Twitter feed URL, Facebook URL or RSS Feed URL in order to create links to these accounts from the icons displayed so people can follow you.
      1. If you leave either the Facebook or Twitter URL field blank, the icons will automatically be removed from the front end.
      2. RSS Feed – If you leave this field blank, the site will use the default WordPress RSS functionality. If you enter a feed URL, it will override and use that URL.
    2. Click SAVE CHANGES

Leaving the fields blank doesn’t remove the icons still linger on. Is there another way to remove them? Great Template otherwise.

      Hi Gus,

Leaving the blank fiels will only remove the extra icons added once you do fill in something. To completely remove the icons, you’ll need to edit the core files of the theme.

Open the file “header.php” and remove line 76

Remember, that when altering the theme’s core files, you will lose any modifications when updating to newer versions. So make sure to take notes of custom changes to reapply them

      Thanks for your support
