Every traveler has important events to let their fans know about: Trip dates, when you’ll be posting your latest content from a specific location, stopping points in your travels, etc…. This theme offers custom sidebar widgets, and you can easily install an events calendar plugin (we recommend WP Calendar) in order to support this functionality.
This widget can be found in the APPEARANCE > WIDGETS area and configured there.
Recommended Use: All your “Travel Events” like trip dates, trip stops, and upcoming trip info should be created as Posts and then added to the Events category. When a reader clicks on “Travel Events” in your main menu, it will take them to a list of your latest travel events so they can keep up with all your latest trip developments. Additionally, you should setup the “Travel Blogger Latest Content” widget to display the most recent events posts in your sidebar. This way all your events have high visibility.
Recommended Use: Create a special “(Your Current Trip) Events” category. Sometimes you might want to focus your reader’s attention on the current trip that you are on. You can create Posts that you assign to a “(Your Current Trip) Events” Category. That way you can write brief updates to publish to your site, and assign them to a new instance of the Travel Blogger Latest Content Widget, then put that Widget in your sidebar so that readers can see all posts related to that trip’s Events.
